Replica WWII Air raid wardens helmet.

This is a copy of the widely used “Brodie helmet”.

It was used in WWI and WWII. Made to mainly to protect the head from flying shrapnel.
During the second world war these were issued to the Air Raid Wardens.
They famously went round the cities during black outs advising people if any light showed from there house.
The catch phrase of “put that light out” was coined during this period.
This replica is authenticaly painted blue with the W initial on the front.
Its designed to sit quite high on the head, higher than most hats, and has an internal circumferance of 21″
It made from Steel in a process near identical to the original.Ideal teaching aid.. “Lest we forget”
